GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY — On Thursday, Jan. 30, 2025, at approximately 2:27 p.m. a trooper from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Traverse City Post stopped a vehicle driven by a 38-yearold man from Traverse City on Vance Road near M-37 in Blair Township. The driver was on parole for drug and weapons crimes. He also had a warrant for his arrest out of Clare County. There was no insurance on the vehicle and a tow truck was called. During a search of the vehicle, drug paraphernalia with fentanyl residue was found. A further search resulted in the recovery of approximately 58 grams of methamphetamine. Evidence of narcotics sales and delivery was also found. A front seat passenger was identified as a 32-year-old woman from Beulah. She was found to be in possession of heroin/fentanyl and methamphetamine.

The driver was arrested for the warrant, possession with intent to distribute meth, evidence tampering, and parole violation. The passenger also had multiple warrants. Both suspects were lodged in the Grand Traverse County Jail pending arraignment. The trooper was assisted another trooper and a deputy from the Grand Traverse Co Sheriff's Office.
