Marvin Willis Jr., age 81, died on October 26, 2024, at MyMichigan Medical Center in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. He was born on January 14, 1943, in Wyandotte, Michigan, to Marvin Sr. and Anna (Kalich) Willis.
Marvin joined the United States Army after graduating from high school and was stationed in Heidelberg, Germany. He married Louise (Gillmann) Willison on January 15, 1965, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wyandotte. After the military, Marvin “Bud” as his family and friends called him, joined Chrysler as a pipefitter, where he enjoyed a long and successful career and retired in 2000. In retirement, he moved permanently to Sugar Island in Sault Ste. Marie, where he was an active member of the Lion’s club. He loved his grandchildren and family and will be missed dearly by them.
Marvin is survived by his sons, Marvin III, Eric (Susan) and Jerrod (Rebecca); grandchildren, Chase (Carly), Blake (Chole), Nicholas, Hailey and Luke Willis; great-grandchild, Violet Willis; and brother, John (Jean).
Marvin was preceded in death by his wife, Louise in 2010; and brother, Kenneth in 2007.
A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2024, 2:00 PM at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 465 Oak St., Wyandotte, MI 48192.
