Jacqueline “Jackie” (McIntire) Malkowski, of Cedarville, Michigan, went to her heavenly home, after a long battle with cancer on October 25, 2024, at the Ball Hospice House in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. She was born on July 11, 1962, in Alpena, Michigan, to Robert “Bob” and Sally (Hibner) McIntire, and was the was the oldest of five children.
Jackie’s father moved the family to Cedarville in the early 1970’s. There Jackie graduated from Cedarville High School and attended Alpena College and Lake Superior State College for Early Childhood Development after high school graduation. Jackie was hired by Cedarville High School as a Teacher’s Aide and Food Service Personnel. The students nicknamed her “Miss Jackie” and she loved it. She wore many hats including waitress, food safe cook, certified nursing assistant, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. In 1993, she met Vernon Malkowski, and they spent 31 years together, as husband and wife. Vernon would often say, “I’m a lucky man to have Jackie by my side.”
Jackie’s joys were family and friends. She loved big holiday dinners, card games, crafting, grandkids, camping, deer hunting, teaching, laughing and sharing. If you knew Jackie, she was a kind and generous 5 foot tall, curly redhead, with a smile that would light up the room.
Jackie leaves behind husband, Vernon; son, Tom (Emily) McIntire; sister, Shelly (Mike) Wright; brother, Donnie McIntire; stepsons, Mark (Karen) Malkowski, Matthew (Jamie) Malkowski and Michael Malkowski; brothers-in-law, John (Mary) Malkowski, Dale Malkowski; Earla Gray; grandchildren, Claire, Valerie, Marcus, Hannah, Sophia, Milo, Mya, Maksym and Moriah; and special friend, Tammy Tremble.
