Kathryn Helen (Krueger) Sliva, age 82, of St. Ignace, Michigan, died on November 23, 2024. She was born on December 6, 1941, in Prince George, Canada, to William and Elizabeth Krueger.

Kathy moved with her family to Minnesota at the age of five. She graduated from Van Dyke High School with the Class of 1958. After graduation, she went to work as a teller at a bank, where she would meet her husband, George Sliva. Kathy and George were married in 1961 and started their family. In 1972, Kathy, George and their children relocated to Upper Peninsula of Michigan, where they settled in St. Ignace. George died in 1985, and Kathy continued working as a bookkeeper at First National Bank until her retirement in 2004 after thirty-five years with the bank. In 1991, Kathy met Mike Doud, and they enjoyed an amazing thirty-three years together.

Kathy was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in St. Ignace.

Kathy enjoyed boating, and travelling with Mike across the United States, to St. Thomas and Australia, just to name a few locations. Kathy also enjoyed watching the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Lions games on the tv. Above all else, Kathy loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Kathy is survived by her significant other, Mike Doud; sons, Kevin (Keri Doan) Sliva, Bill (Heather Lester) Sliva; daughter, Lisa Sliva; stepsons, Pat (Sara) Doud and William “Willy” Doud; stepdaughter, Sister Doud; grandchildren, Kyle (Kristie), Tyler, Dustin, Alaynah, Sadie, Kern, Fitz, Quinn, and Kavanaugh; brother, Brent Krueger; and sister, Pam Krueger.

Kathy was preceded in death by her husband, George Sliva; parents, William and Elizabeth; sister, Marilyn Krueger; and stepson, Mike Doud.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, from 11:00 AM – 12:00 Noon at Family Life Funeral Homes, 999 S. State Street St. Ignace, MI 49781. The Memorial Service will follow immediately at 12:00 Noon.

Final resting place will be Gros Cap Cemetery in Moran Township, Michigan.
