Maryanne “Ruby” Jacobs, age 83, of Sault Ste. Marie, died on November 2, 2024, in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She was born on September 11, 1941, in Ishpeming, Michigan, to Clarence and Della (Brown) Nault.
Ruby grew up in Ishpeming and graduated from Ishpeming High School. She attended College at Northern Michigan University and received her LPN Certificate. She moved to Sault Ste. Marie as a homemaker while raising her three daughters, Louise, Faye and Cathy. She enjoyed baking and canning vegetables from her garden. Ruby loved sewing and making ceramics. She also enjoyed crafts, crocheting, bingo and playing cards. Ruby was a member of the Chippewa County Shooting Association in Barbeau, Michigan and won many trophies for her outstanding marksmanship.
Ruby began employment with War Memorial Hospital working as an LPN and then advancing to an Activities Director at the Long-Term Care Department. She retired from War Memorial Hospital. After retiring, Ruby enjoyed traveling to many places around the United States with Florida being a preferred winter haven. She treasured every moment she spent with her family; including attending all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s functions. She was always there cheering them on.
Ruby is survived by her daughters, Louise Steele, and Faye Dumback both of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan and Cathy (Paul) Linscott of Skowhegan, Maine, stepdaughters, Kathy (Mike) Franklin of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin; Brenda Fike of South Branch, Michigan; stepson, Scott Jacobs of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin; sisters-in law; Teresa Nault of Harvey, Michigan and Kathleen Nault of Republic, Michigan. Ruby leaves behind seventeen grandchildren and thirty-six great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; along with many nieces and nephews.
Ruby was proceeded in death by her husband, Keith; parents, Clarence and Della Nault; brothers, David and Kim Nault; sister, Laura Nault and step son-in-law, Randy Fike.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Service will begin at 11:30 AM at the Family Life Funeral Home 4951 S. M-129 Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.
Final Resting Place will be at Oaklawn Chapel Gardens, burial at 12:30 PM. A luncheon will follow the service at the Bruce Township Hall.
