Gary “Butch” Emerson Chandler II, age 56, of Eckerman, Michigan, died on May 5, 2024, at his home. Butch was born on September 18, 1967, in Flint, Michigan, to Gary and Peggy (Meredith) Chandler I.
Gary grew up in Flint, and graduated from Clio High School, and graduated with the class of 1984. Gary joined the Marine Corp and served 8 years in active duty. Gary worked on the Great Lakes as a Chief Engineer and was very proud of his accomplishments. In ___, Gary met the love of his life Donna Grove, and they married on March 17, 2008.
Gary greatly enjoyed spending time with his family, and adored his grandchildren. He loved his firearm collection and was an active member of the VFW.
Gary is survived by his wife, Donna Chandler; sons, William (Melissa) Haines of Pickford, Michigan; Preston (Jenny) Haines of Dafter, Michigan and Trevor Haines of Eckerman, Michigan; Eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; father, Gary Chandler I; sister, Terry Chandler; and brother, Jeff Chandler.
Gary is proceeded in death by his mother, Peggy Chandler; daughter, Veronica Haines and brother, Mike Chandler.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 18, starting at 1:00 PM at the VFW Post 9023, 8968 M-28, Brimley, Michigan 49715.
