Donna Louise Nyberg, age 58, died on February 4, 2025, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. She was born on March 23, 1966, in Hayti, Missouri, to Dennis and Lovida (Hughes) Igo.
Donna grew up in Missouri as a Coast Guard daughter and moved around a lot. She graduated from high school and found love right next door with Todd Nyberg. Donna and Todd married on September 18, 1987, and moved to Sault Ste. Marie to start their life. She attended Lake Superior State University in the 90’s while they began foster parenting many children in their loving home for ten years. Donna then began working at JKL Bahweting as an aid for students. After working at JKL, she helped many elderly people who needed it, which led her to working at Wood Creek Manor for three years doing cookouts and taking care of residents.
Donna was a woman with a huge heart for people and animals such as: dogs, horses, ducks, chickens and goats. Donna was also very adventurous, she raced cars for five years, snowmobiled, jet skied, water skied, along with motorcycling to Montana. Her and Todd traveled to Mexico, California, Virginia, Hawaii, Tennessee, Florida, and Niagara Falls along with many camping trips.
Donna is survived by her husband, Todd Nyberg; daughter, Kacey (Benjamin) Pope of South Carolina; sons, Mark Nyberg of Pickford, Michigan, Joe (Donielle) Nyberg of Virginia, and Josh Nyberg of Pickford; siblings, Rhonda Smith of Coloma, Michigan, Kay Horn of Sault Ste. Marie and Scott Igo of Sault Ste. Marie; grandchildren, Taylor Nyberg, Cayden Nyberg, Logan Nyberg, Mazie Nyberg, Delilah Pope, and Abby Pope; and many nieces and nephews.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Dennis and Lovida; mother-in-law, Barbara Nyberg; father-in-law, Richard Nyberg; brother-in-law, Larry Nyberg; and sister-in-law, Tammy Nyberg.
Services will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025. Visitation will be 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Family Life Funeral Homes, 24549 S. M-129 Pickford, MI 49774. The Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 AM, with a luncheon to follow at the Pickford Township Hall, 155 E. Main Street, Pickford, MI 49774.
