Predeceased by her parents Thomas Rioux and Marguerite Rioux, and her cherished siblings Maurice Rioux and Madeline Spizawka. Leda is survived by her children Marguerite (Alban), Rita (Marc), the late Roxanne (Brian), the late Marcel Jr., and Deny (Christina). She is survived by her loving grandchildren Cynthia (Adam), Julian (Jessica), Jasmine (Tyler), Faith (Davis), the late Mark Desmoulin, Leah (Cameron), Amanda, Jennifer, Madyson, Ashley, and Lauren. She will also be greatly missed by 12 great-grandchildren and her dear friend Sandra Mackenzie, who faithfully supported Leda throughout her life.
Leda grew up on the CPR line in Musk before moving to White River, and she was a proud member of the Sault Ste Marie community, where she eventually settled. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family over a cup of coffee or a shared meal. She was a passionate puzzler and card player, and she loved besting anyone at a rowdy game of Skip-Bo. She had an affinity for elephants and angels and was deeply faithful. With a heart of gold and a devotion to her family, Leda left an impression wherever she went and will be dearly missed. The family wants to thank Arthur Funeral Home and the Precious Blood Cathedral for their compassion and support during this time. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 24, 2025, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at the Precious Blood Cathedral (778 Queen St. E, Sault Ste Marie), followed by a funeral mass at 3:00pm.
In lieu of flowers you may make memorial donations (made payable by cheque or online) to the Alzheimer's Society, Canadian Cancer Society, or the Canadian Mental Health Association would be greatly appreciated by the family. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy can be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Cooper family.
