Moderate to heavy snow is likely Friday with several inches expected through evening.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for all of Chippewa Co. and the eastern half of Mackinac Co. Friday 4 a.m. to Saturday 4 a.m.

Heavy, wet snow is expected with a general 6"-8" with localized amounts over 10".

Strong ESE winds will make travel on N/S roads, such as Riverside Dr., M-129, I-75, and M-123, treacherous.

Visibilities may drop below a quarter of a mile due to falling and blowing snow. The strong winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages.

The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning and evening commutes.
