Bridge crossings top 100K last month, up from year before

The number of vehicles crossing from one Sault to the other via the International Bridge is up 18.6 per cent in October compared to the same month last year.

In a news release, the International Bridge Administration says there were 103,748 one-way traffic crossings in October 2024, an increase of 16,297 over October 2023.

Commuter fares represented 46.1 per cent of those crossings, while 45.5 per cent were full-fare passenger cars.

The October 2024 numbers at a glance are:

  • Full-Fare Passenger Cars: 47,235 (14.0 per cent increase)
  • Commuter Fare: 47,803 (25.7 per cent increase)
  • Cars Pulling Trailers: 2,263 (4.7 per cent decrease)
  • Commercial Trucks: 6,447 (18.6 per cent decrease)

As of October 31, 953,372 vehicles have crossed the bridge so far this year. The bridge has processed 106.4 million bridge crossings since 1962.
