Ironwood woman charged for Felonious Driving While Intoxicated

Troopers say they observed the vehicle committing multiple hazardous driving violations, including driving on the wrong side of the road

GOGEBIC COUNTY — Troopers from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Wakefield Post made a felony arrest of a woman this past Saturday for Operating While Intoxicated (3rd Offense or Subsequent).

On Saturday, 11/02/2024 at approximately 2:30 a.m. Troopers noticed a vehicle traveling on Lowell Street near Pewabic Street in Ironwood. Troopers observed the vehicle committing multiple hazardous driving violations, including driving on the wrong side of the road. Troopers made a traffic stop of the vehicle for the violations.

Following their investigation, Troopers arrested a 48-year-old woman from Ironwood, Michigan for Operating While Intoxicated (3rd Offense or Subsequent) which is a felony, and for Operating without a valid Driver’s License which is a misdemeanor.

The subject was lodged in the Gogebic County Jail and was released on a $1000 bond. She is next due in court on November 25th, 2024, for arraignment. The defendant is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
