Traffic violation leads to drug charge for Kingsley driver

Police seized a glass pipe and suspected methamphetamine during a traffic stop on M-37.

On Friday, July 5, 2024, at approximately 5:22 p.m. troopers from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Traverse City Post stopped a vehicle for a moving violation on S M-37 Highway near West Blair Townhall Road in Blair Township. The driver, a 33-year-old man from Kingsley, was in possession of a recently purchased glass pipe which is commonly associated with drug use. Upon further investigation, the man was found to be in possession of a small bag of methamphetamine.

The driver was placed under arrest and lodged in the Grand Traverse County Jail pending arraignment.
