Suspect in Houghton Lake home invasion released on bond

A suspect in a home invasion in Houghton Lake has been released on bond following a court appearance.

Jordan Carrick, 33, from Houghton Lake was arraigned in the 82nd District Court in Roscommon County on one count of home invasion second degree, and malicious destruction of property. 

He was released on a $10,000 cash surety bond. His next court appearance is on April 12, Michigan State Police said in a news release.

As reported earlier by SooLeader, on March 27 at approximately 5:30 a.m., troopers from the MSP Houghton Lake Post were dispatched to the North Shore Lounge in Houghton Lake to investigate a breaking and entering of the business. 

The suspect fled the scene after making entry to the tavern.

At 1:33 p.m. the same day, troopers were dispatched to E. Houghton Lake Drive for a home invasion in progress. This address is near the previous break and enter. 

Troopers were able to make an arrest after matching photographs of a vehicle license plate with security camera images and witness photographs from the two crime scenes.
