Woman charged after meth and mushrooms seized in Cadillac

On Monday, February 3, 2025, at approximately 9:25 p.m., troopers from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Cadillac Post stopped a vehicle on Plett Road near 13th Street in Cadillac for a moving violation.

The passenger, 31-year-old Mary Ellen Curtis from Cadillac, had a warrant for her arrest. During her arrest, troopers found methamphetamine and psilocybin mushrooms inside her purse. 

Curtis was placed under arrest and lodged in the Wexford County Jail. The driver of the vehicle, a 32-year-old woman from Cadillac, was released from the scene.

Curtis was arraigned yesterday in the 84th District Court in Wexford County on one count Possession of Methamphetamine Second or Subsequent Offense, one count Possession Schedule Five Second or Subsequent Offense and Habitual Offender Third Offense Notice. She was given a $25,000 cash surety bond. Her next scheduled court appearance is on February 18, 2025, at 2:00 p.m.
