Sault man faces 10 charges of of child sexually abusive activity: MSP

Accused faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted

Michigan State Police have arrested a 21-year-old in connection with an investigation for for child sexually abusive activity.

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - The Michigan State Police (MSP) Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force is announcing the arrest of Jacob Tyler Dumas 21, for child sexually abusive activity - aggravated, possession of child sexually abusive material, and using a computer to commit a crime.

Dumas was arrested following an investigation which was initiated when it was learned Dumas was viewing files of child sexually abusive material on the internet. A search of his residence resulted in digital evidence being seized.

Dumas was charged with 10 counts of child sexually abusive activity – aggravated possession and two counts of using a computer to commit a crime. Dumas was arraigned in the 91st District Court on July 2.

If convicted, Dumas faces up to 25 years in prison for the child sexually abusive activity – aggravated possession and 20 years in prison for using a computer to commit a crime.
