All Sault Area Public Schools are locked down due to an incident on the I-75 Business Spur.
Michigan State Police are searching for an armed and dangerous suspect wanted in connection with the shooting and burning of several Sault post police vehicles.
"Sault Schools will be locked from the outside and classes will proceed as normal," says a post from Superintendent Amy Kronemeyer and School Resource Officer Adkins on the schools' website. "Sault Police Department and Chippewa County Sheriff Department are monitoring the situation and will notify us when to remove the additional security measures."
The schools will notify parents when those measures have been lifted.
