McBain man reaches plea agreement in first of two cases for sexually assaulting a child

MISSAUKEE AND OSCEOLA COUNTIES, MI. In January 2024, a trooper from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Cadillac Post was made aware of another victim in a sexual assault case he was working. The original investigation began in March 2023. The victim in this case alleged they had been sexually assaulted by now 37-year-old Brien Lee Schultz from McBain from 2006 through 2010. The latest victim claimed they were sexually assaulted by Schultz beginning in 2010 through 2011. The venues in these cases were in different counties.

Schultz was charged and arrested for the original sexual assault in Osceola County. He was arraigned in May 2024 in the 77th District Court in Osceola County for one count First Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct of Person Under 13, one count Children – Accosting for Immoral Purposes, and one count Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.

Schultz was charged and arrested for the other sexual assault that occurred in Missaukee County. He was arraigned in May 2024 in the 84th District Court of Missaukee County one count Third Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct of Person Under 13, one count Children – Accosting for Immoral Purposes, and one count Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.

Schultz recently entered a plea agreement in the Missaukee County Circuit Court for count Third Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct of Person Under 13, one count Children – Accosting for Immoral Purposes. His bond has been revoked.
