WEXFORD COUNTY, MI. In July 2024, a trooper from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Cadillac Post was asked to investigate a sexual assault of a minor. The victim alleged they had been sexually assaulted in July 2023 by 61-year-old Leonard Horace Hoover from Cadillac. The victim was interviewed at the Traverse City Child Advocacy Center. A report was submitted to the Wexford County Prosecutor’s Office and an arrest warrant was issued on Oct. 3, 2024. Hoover was arrested on Oct. 8 and lodged in the Wexford County Jail.
Hoover was arraigned yesterday in the 84th District Court in Wexford County on one count Third Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct Multiple Variables. He was given a PR bond. His next scheduled court appearance is on Oct. 22, 2024, at 2 p.m.
