William “Bill” Percy Feltis, age 91, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, passed away on February 7, 2025, at the Ball Hospice House in Sault Ste. Marie. His wife of 69 years, Shirely (Harwood) was with him, and Bill was continually surrounded by family members over the last days of his life. He was born on October 13, 1933, in Dafter, Michigan, to Vern and Margaret (Hope) Feltis.
A life-long resident of the Sault Ste. Marie area, Bill spent many years delivering freight to the area’s local community businesses as a teamster for Clairmont Transfer. Upon leaving this position, he continued to use his driving skills at the Raco Test Track, as well as driving test vehicles in winter conditions.
Bill was the ultimate good neighbor and was always ready to lend a helping hand when needed. He could frequently be seen in the neighborhood plowing snow (both his own and neighbors) and used his tractor to till area gardens. He will be dearly missed by many.
Bill will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Shirley; children, Dennis Feltis of Dafter, Kim (Jeffrey) Kallio of Hulbert, Michigan, Joseph (Debbie) Feltis of Columbiaville, Michigan, William (Stacy) Feltis of Bay Mills, Michigan; grandchildren, Eric Feltis (Dennis), Wade and Levi Kallio (Kim), and Jarrett, Tyler, and Kurtis Feltis (William).
Bill was preceded in death by his son, Vern Feltis; and grandson, Christopher Feltis.
A Memorial Service was conducted on February 10, 2025, at the Brimley VFW Hall for family and friends.
