Roger Alan Skow, age 71, died on December 13, 2024, unexpectedly at his home in Dafter, Michigan. He was born on November 16, 1953, in Pontiac, Michigan, to Kenneth and Eleanora (Konopka) Skow.
Roger was raised in Livonia, Michigan, and attended Lake Superior State University for forestry and conservation. He also went to Michigan Technological University for mechanics and small engine repair. He worked in forestry management out west and after, he was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force. He settled in the Eastern Upper Peninsula making his home in Dafter with Pamela where they raised their two children.
In Rogers’ younger years, he used to have a pet chicken named Lettuce. He was a man of diversity; he enjoyed playing the accordion, as well as scuba diving and spelunking. He also enjoyed spending time in his garage, building machines, air compressors, wood splitters, he even motorized a wheelbarrow to haul things.
Roger is survived by his significant other of 33 years, Pamela Hartledge; sons, Kramer (Haleigh) Skow, and Dolan Skow; sisters, Beverly Youngs, Jane (Alvin) Austin; and brother, Kenneth Skow.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Eleanora.
Per Rogers wishes, there will be no service at this time. The family will be planning something in the spring.
