Matthew David LeBlanc, age 70, of Bay Mills, Michigan, began his journey home to the Creator on November 15, 2024. He was born on August 20, 1954, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, to Arthur L. LeBlanc and Marvine (Teeple) LeBlanc. Matthew was the sixth child of eleven and lived in Bay Mills all of his life.
One of Matthew's greatest pleasures in life was to play the piano. Matt could play for hours and entertain family members with the beautiful songs of the Beatles, the Eagles, and Crosby, Stills, and Nash amongst many others. Matthew has also been a singer on a traditional drum in the 1970’s known as the “Waishkey Bay” singers where he would often take the lead.
Matthew's hobbies were walking, watching sports, and cooking. He was not afraid to try any recipe, could walk for miles and miles, and family knew not to bother him if the Detroit Lions or Detroit Tigers were on television.
Matthew is survived by his wife of 29 years, Margaret (Boyd) LeBlanc; step-son, Brian Boyd (Corrie Teeple); and granddaughter, Belinda Ann; siblings, Jeanette LeBlanc of Brimley, Michael (Jeanette White) LeBlanc of Bay Mills, Kelly Bedell of Bay Mills, and Howard LeBlanc of Bay Mills. Matthew's surviving in-laws include Neal Boyd of Sault Ste. Marie, Dar (Jim) Dailey of Brimley, Lynn Boyd of Hessel, and Mary Johnson of California. Matthew also had numerous nephews and nieces.
Matthew was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur L. and Marvine LeBlanc; siblings, Arthur J. (S. Jean Boyer) LeBlanc, Andrew A. LeBlanc Sr., Gail Rita LeBlanc, John S. LeBlanc, Paul A. LeBlanc, Lisa Marvine LeBlanc; and mother-in-law, Eileen Boyd.
The family of Matthew LeBlanc would like to acknowledge and thank the beautiful people at the Robert and Helen Ball Hospice House where he spent the last month of his life. Words cannot express the gratitude felt for all who helped to care for Matthew. Hospice House is a piece of heaven for those on their way to heaven is how one family member described it.
