Judith “Judy” Grace Campbell, age 75, of Pickford, Michigan, passed away at McLaren Hospital in Flint, Michigan, on October 19, 2023. She was born on July 16, 1948, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, to parents James Herman and Euline Margaret (Stirling) Campbell.
Judy grew up in Pickford and graduated from Pickford High School with the Class of 1966 and went on to attend Lake Superior State University for a time. She made her home in Pickford working on her family’s dairy farm. In 1973, she began volunteering on the Pickford ambulance crew, serving her community for over forty-eight years. Judy always remained a loyal Pickford Panther alumna and could regularly be found at sporting events and other school activities supporting her many nieces and nephews & great-nieces and nephews.
Judy loved raising Scottie dogs and was a member of the Scottish Terrier Club of Michigan and the Scottish Terrier Club of America. Having grown up participating in 4-H, she continued in her adult years as a volunteer at the Chippewa County Fair and in local 4-H clubs. At one time, she was a member of a bowling league in Sault Ste. Marie. Other hobbies she especially enjoyed included painting, ceramics, making candles, and illustrating Holstein dairy cows for their MMPA registrations.
Judy is survived by her siblings; sister, Janet Campbell of Pickford; brother, James (Lori) Campbell of Pickford; brother, Jerald (Jo-Ellen) Campbell of Pickford and sister, Cindy (Lee) Wentzel of Portage, Michigan. Judy is also survived by her sister-in-law Fran Leavitt as well as many nieces and nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, James “Herman” and Euline Campbell, stepmother Helen Campbell; stepmother Irene Mitchell, and siblings, James “JL” Leavitt, Cal Leavitt, Gary & Caroline (Gary) Cottle, and Connie Leavitt.
A Memorial Gathering will be held October 29, 2023, from 1:00 - 2:00 P.M., with the Funeral Service, directly after, at the Pickford Global Methodist Church.
