Jonathon “Skip” Lee Corrie

Jonathon “Skip” Lee Corrie, age 79, of Moran, Michigan, died on February 18, 2025. He was born on January 26,1946, to Mark and Dora (Quilici) Corrie.

Skip grew up in Detroit, Michigan. He joined the United States Navy and was stationed in Vietnam for three years. After being honorably discharged, he returned to his hometown where he attended beauty school and worked as a beautician at his mother’s salon for about a year. After a year, Skip realized that construction was the line of work for him. Later, he moved to St. Ignace, Michigan, opening his pizzeria and a hotel before moving back to his hometown. He then settled back down in St. Ignace where he pursued furniture restoration until he retired in 2010.

He loved coming up to the Upper Peninsula to hunt and fish, settling down in Moran. Skip had a love for carving and woodworking, along with hobby farming. He loved being around his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and watching Western movies, new and old.

Skip is survived by his sons, Aaron Corrie of Detroit, Michigan, Danny Seewald of Ithica, New York, and Vincent (Faith) Seewald of St. Ignace; daughters, Amy Seewald of Kalamazoo, Michigan, and Hannah (Joshua) Orr of St. Ignace; and grandchildren, Remington, Emery, Deklyn, Jayne, Logan, Oliver and Maddy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mark and Dora; and granddaughter, Lola Orr.

A Memorial Service will be held in the Spring of 2025.

Jonathon’s final resting place will be at Lakeside Cemetery in St. Ignace, Michigan.
