James Franklin Bishop, age 82, of St. Ignace, Michigan, died on October 26, 2024 at home with his family surrounding him including his first great-great-granddaughter, one year old Isla Marie. He was born on September 2, 1942 in St. Johns, Michigan, to Clarence and Frances (Hufnagel) Bishop.
Mr. Bishop moved to this area from the Owosso area twenty-eight years ago to enter marriage with his wife, Stella Obeshaw. The happy couple were married twenty-four years ago on July 24th, 2000. The couple shared seven children, nine grandchildren, and were blessed with one great-great-granddaughter.
Mr. Bishop is survived by his wife, Stella Bishop; son, Timothy James Bishop; brother, Fred (Lynn) Bishop; sister, Maureen Gilna; grandchildren, Stephanie Newman, William Bishop, Timothy Bishop, Lucas Bishop, Robert Marshall Jr., Michelle (Michael) Tuckerman, Brian (Tia) Marshal, Nathanael (Jennifer Lobo) Tuckerman, KaSandra (Jacob) Bowers, Hunter (Brianna Humphray) Tuckerman, Nickolah Marshall, Makaylah Marshall, Shane, Eric, Cory Obeshaw, Austin Sindels; and one great-great grandchild, Isla Marie Tuckerman.
Mr. Bishop was proceeded in death by his son, Andrew Paul Bishop; and sister, Janis Kazen.
A memorial service is planned for November 29, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Zion Lutheran Church, 1946 Brevort Lake Rd, Moran, MI 49760.
Mr. Bishop will be laid to rest next spring beside his beloved son, Andy, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Owosso.
