Charles “Chuck” MacGowan Harrison, age 71, of Moran, Michigan, died at his home on January 14, 2024. He was born on December 6, 1952, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, to MacGowan and Margaret (Rye) Harrison.
Chuck grew up in Pickford, Michigan, and graduated from Pickford High School in 1971. He met his childhood friend, Lu-Ann Bosley, through family friends and they married on August 17, 1974, at the Sacred Heart Church in DeTour Village, Michigan. They started their lives in Pickford, before settling in Bark River, Michigan, in 1977, for ten years and started their family. He began working as a laborer with the LIUNA Local #1329. Chuck and Lu-Ann returned to Pickford in 1987. In 1994, he started masonry with the BAS Bricklayers Local #2. He also worked for A&L Iron and Metal for several years before retiring in 2012. Since retirement, he worked odd jobs with his brother, Steve, with his electrical business.
Chuck was a member of LIUNA local # 1329 and the BAS Bricklayers Local #2.
Chuck was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed motorcycle riding, snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, bowling, camping, playing horseshoes, and table pool, dancing, and working on cars. He also enjoyed NASCAR, watching his children and grandchildren play sports, and was a big Lions fan.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Lu-Ann; son, Bradley (Jessica) Harrison of Pickford, Michigan; daughters, Amy (Jarred) Reid, of Cedarville, Michigan, and Tina (Andy Briggs) Harrison of Kincheloe, Michigan; grandchildren, Jackie, Mathew (Katie), Kristin (Brandon) Beno, Nicole (Brian Merchberger), Victoria, Valerie, Anna (Cole) Christiansen, Amber (Jake) Rochte, Morgan (Zac) West, Sarah, and Kayde; great-grandchildren, Jaylen, Charlotte, Arlo, Morgan, Ivy, Aubree, Tysen, Kaiden, Zander, and one to come in May; brother, Steven (Debbie) Harrison of Pickford; sister, Brenda Andrew of Pickford; brother-in-law, Anthony (Sue) Bosley of DeTour, Michigan; sisters-in-law, Sharon Hamel of DeTour, Carol (Murray) Hansen of Arizona, and Delores Bosley of St. Ignace; great friend, Dave Blair & his family; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, MacGowan and Margaret; brother, Gary; grandson, Trenton Briggs; great-grandson, Armon Hart; brothers-in-law, Bert Hamel, and Jack Bosley; sister-in-law, Dolores (Fred) Rye; and father & mother-in-law, Ross & Grace Bosley.
Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at the Presbyterian Church in Pickford, Michigan, with a Memorial Service to follow at 1:00 PM.
