CHARLEVOIX COUNTY — On Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2023, a trooper from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Gaylord Post was dispatched to investigate a larceny from an automobile and fraudulent use of a bank card. The investigation revealed 29-year-old Elizabeth Dawn Everett from Central Lake, accessed the victim’s vehicle through an unlocked door while it was parked at the Charlevoix High School on Dec. 17. Everett stole the victim’s wallet, which contained a driver’s license, a bank card, and approximately $400 cash. Everett then used the victim’s bank card to make purchases at the BP gas station in Central Lake, Dollar General in Central Lake, and BC Pizza in East Jordan. Surveillance footage from the businesses were reviewed and Everett was identified as the suspect. She was interviewed and placed under arrest. She was lodged in the Charlevoix County Jail.

Everette was arraigned on Jan. 9, 2024, in the 90th District Court in Charlevoix County on one count Illegal Use of Financial Transaction Device and one count Larceny over $200 but less than $1,000. She was given a $2,500 bond. Her next scheduled court appearance is on Jan. 30, 2024, at 2:30 p.m.
