Rep. Neil Friske has slammed House Democrats for what he calls a partisan attack on Michigan Republican Party Chair Kristina Karamo, comparing her to Hitler and Nazis.
House Resolution 68, presented by Reps. Samantha Steckloff and Noah Arbit, specifically mentions the Republican Party by name and accuses half of Americans of attempting to commit "dishonor of those who suffered at the hands of Hitler and the Nazis."
'“Our constituents sent us to Lansing to pass legislation and vote on spending bills, not to waste a day’s worth of public resources comparing the first black woman to lead the MIGOP to Hitler or some sort of Nazi figure,” said Friske in a news release. “This is beyond lunacy.”
Despite objections from House Republican leadership, partisan antics were allowed to occur on the floor during a speech which went against virtually all house rules, the release added. The resolution comes after headline reports claim that Karamo stated that the Nazi Regime disarmed Jewish civilians before deporting them to camps like Auschwitz or Treblinka, which is factually accurate, Friske said in the release.
“If you wanna talk about people emulating the Nazis, let’s talk about Kristallnacht, you know the Night of Broken Glass,” said Friske. “My good friend Rep. Josh Schriver just had left-wing insurgents storm his property and break the windows of his car because of his opposition to gun control. Who are the real villains here?”
Friske said he disavows all acts of violence, perpetrated by both private citizens and governments around the globe, which is why he firmly stands against gun control, which he claims has killed hundreds of millions worldwide.
