Ladies Night Out is Friday and there is a new gift shop in downtown Sault Ste. Marie set to officially open its doors that same day — Soo Locks Gift Gallery.
Jill Ann Rambo, owner of The Little Gift Shop, has taken on yet another business venture.
"We are constantly thinking of new creative ideas to expand and grow," Rambo said. "I have wanted a second store since the first year I opened The Little Gift Shop. I just love the Sault and people. I love getting to know them. That store has souvenirs and gifts for tourists. Soo Locks Gift Gallery is more of a boutique with local shoppers in mind."
Find outdoor lawn ornaments, barbeque sauces, maple syrup, apparel, custom designed watercolor paintings, and more from vendors nationwide.
"It is just a breath of fresh air, a light and pleasant shopping experience," she added.
Soo Locks Gift Gallery will remain open until 8 p.m. this Friday in accordance with Ladies Night. Customers are invited to shop around at either store and get stamped for their chance to win a gift bag valued at $50. The first 100 customers will receive free prizes with a purchase of $15 or more.
Just down the street, along West Portage Avenue, The Little Gift Shop will be have beer and pizza to match this year's Ladies Night Out theme — "Dig It." As seen by the orange signs, tractors, and construction workers fixing up city streets, this year's Ladies Night Out theme is just that. The event is sponsored by Monocle Jewelers.

A list of all participating stores is posted in the “discussion” section of the Downtown Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. Facebook page — 2023 Ladies Night Out. Free shuttle services, independent of the DDA, will be available with route and pick-up locations to be released on the page.
