Sault Ste. Marie Area Public Schools announced this morning that Jeanine Sherman has been named principal of Sault Area High School and Career Center.
Sherman's move is a promotion from her current post as an assistant principal at the school. She takes over from current principal Carl McCready, who will be going to Lincoln Elementary to fill the void left by retiring principal Diane Chevillot.

Mrs. Sherman holds 17 years of educational experience as a classroom teacher and administrator.
During her eight-year tenure as assistant principal of Sault Area High School, Mrs. Sherman led countless initiatives focused on student wellbeing, including her favorite event, Freshman Bootcamp.
Mrs. Sherman creates unique solutions and builds school-wide systems to provide students with the support they need to be successful.
Superintendent (Amy J. Scott-) Kronemeyer commented: "Mrs. Sherman's enthusiasm, creativity, and passion for learning coupled with her commitment to the students, staff and the Sault community, make her the perfect leader to ensure Sault Area High School remains a great place to learn."
