Steven Allan Perrault, 41, of Dafter had previously been arrested and released on bond with the condition that he must wear a GPS Tether.

On Monday Deputy Sheriff's from the Tether Unit found that Perrault had taken off his tether and fled the area.

Later on that evening officers from Sault Ste Marie Police Dept. found Mr. Perrault in his vehicle in Sault Ste Marie. Perrault fled the area in his vehicle. A Deputy Sheriff immediately pulled in behind Perrault after he fled and was then assisted by Sault PD.

Perrault fled the Sault area and eventually crashed his truck off of a 2-track in the Cottage Park area in Chippewa County.

Perrault then took off on foot into the isolated wooded area.

Earlier this morning, the Sheriff's Office received information that Perrault was in his Dafter residence.

By this time a felony warrant had been issued for his arrest.

A search of the residence found Perrault hiding inside and he was taken into custody.

Perrault was lodged in the CCCF for the Felony warrant, on 2 counts of Resisting and Obstructing and Flee and Elude.

On Monday Perrault was arraigned on the 3 charges and bond was set at $250,000. Perrault is innocent until proven guilty.

Perrault is a habitual offender.

Additional reports will be sent to the prosecutors office for review with additional charges expected.
