Sault Area Middle School will move to distance learning for approximately two weeks starting Wednesday, Feb. 12 over concerns of the partial roof collapse that happened last Friday night.
In a press release from Superintendent Amy Scott-Kronemeyer this afternoon, she states until the school has clearance from the Bureau of Construction Code and Bureau of Fire Services, they need to remain out of the school facility.
Tonight, February 11 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Wednesday, February 12 from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., parents can pick up Chromebooks in front of Sault Area Middle School. Teachers will have links to their class sessions on their websites and communications will come from Parent Square. School will operate from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. through distance learning.
Sault Dining Services is working on a plan for extended meal access, and we will communicate how to pick up those meals early next week.
SooLeader will continue to update this story as more official information becomes available.
