Kokosing Alberici Traylor (KAT) jump-started the EUP Foster Care Family Enrichment Fund by presenting a $5,000 check to Chippewa County Community Foundation (CCCF) yesterday morning.
“Great Lakes Recovery Center (GLRC), along with representatives from Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians, and Bay Mills Indian Community will use these funds to sponsor fun, educational activities for foster families within our community,” said GLRC Foster Parent Support Coordinator Aimee Rice.
Examples could be plays, concerts, or athletic events.
“By donating these funds, KAT and CCCF are sending our foster families the message that their work is important,” said Rice. “It tells kids coming from difficult backgrounds that they are valued and deserving of good experiences.”
CCCF Co-Directors Steve Habusta and Debbie Jones were equally pleased to see a company like KAT support area foster families. Habusta encouraged others to follow suit in donating to the EUP Foster Care Family Enrichment Fund.
“As a former foster parent, I recognize how much a difference this fund will make in the lives of foster families,” said Habusta. “I would like to see others contribute.”
Jones identified KAT as a “great community partner,” thanking the construction company for all of its local involvement over the past two years.
