The Chippewa County Sheriff's Department issued the following release about an arrest in a child sexual assault investigation:
In the Spring of 2021 Detectives from the Chippewa Co Sheriff's Office started an investigation into a Sexual Assault against a child.
The lengthy investigation concluded this past week with the arrest of JAMES ALLEN MORRIS. Morris previously lived in Kincheloe Mi.
Once an arrest warrant was issued, a nationwide search was started. It was found that Mr. Morris was already in jail on a separate offense in the Savannah Georgia area.
The investigation has resulted in additional victims and witnesses coming forward.
Deputy Sheriff's drove to Georgia and transported Morris back to Chippewa County where Morris was lodged in the CCCF on 4-21-2022.

2- CSC 2nd Degree
3- CSC 2nd Degree
4- CSC 2nd Degree
5- CSC- Assault w/intent to commit Sexual Penetration (Child)
6- CSC- Assault w/intent to commit Sexual Penetration (Child)
- Morris is a 4th Habitual Offender
On 4-22-2022 Morris was arraigned in the 91st Dist Court. Morris is innocent until proven guilty.
