Four volunteer fire departments responded to a house fire this afternoon about eight miles southwest of Pickford.
The call came in around 1:20 p.m. for a structure fire on E. Simmons Road just west of Three Mile Road in Marquette Township.
Two people were home when the fire started. They told firefighters it started in the utility room at the circuit breaker box.
Pickford, Rudyard, Kinross and Clark Township Volunteer Fire Departments all responded.
Pickford Fire Chief Jim Miller credits the quick response of the mutual aid to help clear the scene by 3:40 p.m.
Miller said the house is a total loss.
