The Chippewa County Family Project is holding its annual Festival of Trees Christmas Tree Auction Dec. 4 from 7-9 p.m. Winners will be announced soon after 9 p.m.
It will be a virtual event where bidding will be done online at their Facebook page found here.
Around two-dozen decorated Christmas trees will be up for bidding.
Trees can be bid on by commenting on the post of the tree that you are interested in.
All proceeds benefit the Arfstrom Faunt Teen Home located in Sault Ste. Marie.
Mary Jo DuVall, organizer of the event, said they went virtual this year because more people seem to participate.
"The tree festival is a great way to support our teens locally and a way to help your Christmas decorating. Also, the best thing that I like is the involvement I created with Tracey Menard at Sault High to get the students and peers involved in the festival. It's a great lesson for the teens to learn about their peers and the struggles they have," she explained.
The Arfstrom Faunt Teen Home is an adolescent Supported Independent Living (SIL) program that helps young people transition into adulthood by teaching them life skills and providing support by learning how to budget, manage money, cook, clean, and do laundry.
SIL also provides support through guidance, emotional support, and financial assistance. It also identifies their strengths, helps them set goals, and make decisions.
SIL programs can help young people to learn to live independently, contribute to society, meet life situations in a satisfying way, and transition into adulthood with a sense of normalcy.
