This morning, Michigan Republican running for U.S. Senate Mike Rogers joined Newsmax’s Wake Up America to discuss the Democrats’ job-killing EV mandates that are destroying Michigan’s auto industry, and the state of the senate and presidential races.

Michigan is one of the top targets for Republicans looking to take back the Senate majority and win back the White House. Mike Rogers is gaining ground against his radical-left opponent, Slotkin, because Michiganders want a leader who will have their back in Washington.

EV mandates:

“My opponent said she would never vote for an EV mandate and then got elected and voted for an EV mandate. I would not trust them going forward on this issue that is so critical to a state like Michigan – Harris included. 2,400 layoffs at Stellantis, 1,000 layoffs at General Motors, Ford says they are pulling back on plants, they lost $100,000-plus per EV that they sold. Think about that. This is all because of government mandates, government intervention who told car companies they had to build them, they told buyers you’re going to have to buy them eventually. It’s wrong for the state. It’s wrong for the country. Markets work, mandates don’t. It’s really having a negative impact here and you hope that they wake up and see the damage they are doing.”

Michigan Senate Race:

“We’ve never been this close this early. Remember, Trump was down six points in Michigan in 2020, he’s tied. Same with us, we’re tied in August. I think this bodes well. People are tired of not having their paycheck go to the end of the month… It’s going to be an economic election this cycle.”
