SOO FILM FESTIVAL

Soo Film Festival will return to downtown Sault Ste. Marie for five days of movies from Sept. 10-14.
Screening venues will again be the historic Soo Theatre and Bayliss Public Library, a Superior District Library. Dates and venues are subject to change.
"We are excited for another year of celebrating Great Lakes films in downtown Sault Ste. Marie," said Festival president Jason Markstrom.
“The talent in the region is remarkable and being able to put a spotlight onto it is a great feeling.”
Documentary and all genres of fiction, feature and shorts, will be accepted online exclusively through FilmFreeway beginning March 10.
The festival committee has set a no-fee early bird deadline of April 6. The regular deadline is May 18 and requires a $20 entry fee.
Late entries must be submitted by June 9 with an entry fee of $25.
The selected films will be announced the week of August 1. Filmmakers will find complete entry details at FilmFreeway.com/SooFilmFestival.
Soo Film Festival strives to showcase work from the Great Lakes region but is open to filmmakers worldwide.
The 2025 Soo Film Festival organizing committee is Jason Markstrom, Allison Youngs, Pat Egan, Carrie DeWeese, and Susan James.
