From Chippewa County Central Dispatch regarding power disruption in NW Chippewa County:
WHITEFISH TOWNSHIP RESIDENTS - POWER DISRUPTION
Currently parts of Whitefish Township are without power. Cloverland Electric crews are on scene and actively working to solve the issue.
Warming stations have been opened in your township in the event that you need them.
You may Call 211 for information regarding these warming stations and for any updates to the capabilities of these warming stations.
SooLeader contacted Whitefish Township Clerk Fred Roach at 1:45pm and received the following information:
"I have been on the phone with Cloverland twice and they have been in contact with the workers in the field and he told me that a transformer at the Eckerman substation blew. At that time he said it could take a few days to get that fixed and get the power back on. They are going to try to piggy-back power from other substations. They are trying to get a mobile substation from Wisconsin."
According to the Cloverland Electric website, as of 1:45 p.m. there are nearly 1,000 customers without power in far NW Chippewa County.

I do not know the status of school on Monday but that decision will be made Sunday if warranted.
The town hall and emergency building is open also if you need an immediate place to go.
