Bay Mills Resort & Casino is set to resume operations after an electrical fire earlier this week.

The fire caused issues with the phone system, ATM machines, gaming systems and other electrical components at the Casino.

Following is a full release from Bay Mills on the reopening:

On May 20 at 3 p.m., Bay Mills Resort & Casino will resume operations and open back up to the public.

BMRC was forced to close down earlier this week due to an electrical fire that wreaked havoc on numerous computer systems, including the hotel reservation system and casino gaming floor.

The IT Department has been able to successfully restore phone lines, ATM machines, gaming systems, credit card processing, and surveillance systems. Initial testing indicates the hotel reservation system may be permanently damaged. A replacement has been ordered, but it is not yet known when that system will be back up and running completely.

BMRC will still welcome hotel guests, using good "old fashioned" paper and pen. You can reach BMRC  at: (888) 422-9645 or online.

Making the repairs has been a monumental effort for the IT Department and BMRC staff, who have been working around the clock.

“The damage that occurred, although limited, hit us where it hurts,” said BMIC Chairperson Whitney Gravelle. “I can't thank our teams enough for their long hours and dedication to Bay Mills Indian Community.

While all phone lines have been repaired, some technical difficulties may arise as the systems are tested.

“We also appreciate the patience and prayers of our guests, community members and employees during this time," Gravelle added.
