The 54th annual Snowman Burning will take place Thursday, March 20 at 5:30 p.m. on the campus of Lake Superior State University.
There is no charge to attend the family-friendly event and it is open to the public.
The snowman, which is not made of snow at all but instead of wood, paper, chicken wire, straw and a touch of paint, will be ignited in the open area on the north end of the Cisler Center.
LSSU began the ritual of Snowman Burning in 1971 to celebrate the end of winter and mark the start of spring.
