Green Bay man arrested near Gladstone for cocaine, meth possession

DELTA COUNTY - Michigan State Police (MSP) Gladstone Post troopers have arrested a 56-year-old man from Green Bay, Wis. for possession of cocaine, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of analogues.

On Jan. 25 at approximately 3:55 a.m., troopers were on patrol in Bark River Township when they noticed a vehicle traveling on Old US-2/41 Highway near D Road. The vehicle committed traffic violations, and the troopers conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle.

The troopers’ subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of the driver, Steven Van Lanen, for possession of cocaine, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of analogues. Van Lanen was lodged in the Delta County Jail for the offenses.

On Monday, Van Lanen was arraigned in the 94th District Court in Escanaba. Van Lanen’s bond was set at $20,000. He is next due in court on Feb. 13. He is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
