Betsy (Brocklehurst) Tester, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and servant of the Lord, entered her heavenly home on November 25, 2024, at the age of 69. She was born on August 23, 1955, to James and Mary (Holt) Brocklehurst.
Betsy was surrounded by love and held fast to her enduring faith. She lived a life dedicated to her family, faith, and community. Betsy shared forty-seven wonderful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Al. Together, they raised their daughter, Alison, instilling a deep sense of love and faith, and showing her the importance of family. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she treasured every moment she spent with them.
Betsy is a graduate of Sault Area High School and Lake Superior State College. She worked as a legal secretary, and Traverse City Area Public Schools, and Sault Area Middle School, where her warmth and kindness touched the lives of many students and colleagues. After retiring, she gave her time and talents to Ball Hospice House and the War Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She also enjoyed traveling with Al, going to her grandkid’s events, golfing and lunching with friends, and spending time on the beach in Brimley.
Betsy is survived by her loving husband, Al Tester; daughter, Alison (Mike) Kasprzak; grandchildren, Joey, Jacob and Annalise Kasprzak; mother Mary Brocklehurst; siblings, Nancy (Tom) Chadwick, Dan (Mary Ellen) Brocklehurst, Patty Brocklehurst, and Barb (Craig) Correll; and many extended family and friends.
Betsy was preceded in death by her father, James Brocklehurst.
Visitation will be held at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 615 Washington Way, Sault Ste. Marie, MI, on Saturday, December 7, 2024, beginning at 11:00 AM with the funeral service to follow at Noon.
A Remembrance Gathering will take place from 3:00pm to 6:00pm at Lake Superior State University’s Walker Cisler Center, Crow’s Nest. Everyone is welcome to come exchange their favorite stories of Betsy.

Betsy will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her loving heart, and her dedication to serving others. Her legacy of love and compassion will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
