Robert “Bear” Wallace TenEyck, age 66, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at home surrounded by family and friends after battling cancer. Bear was born on July 15, 1958, in Detroit, Michigan, to Ralph and Patricia (Pryor) TenEyck.
Bear grew up in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, where he enjoyed spending time with his friends, listening to music and causing occasional mischief. He proudly served in the United States Army prior to settling back in Sault Ste. Marie. He raised his children, Alan and Danyalle, on Sugar Island, Michigan, surrounded by family and friends. He often boasted about his children and their achievements, and he was a proud father to both.
Bear was “Papa Bear” to seven grandchildren, Kyle (Logan Methner) TenEyck, Avery TenEyck, Reece Wyckoff, Hailey Jane Wyckoff, Amelia Wyckoff, Wyatt Baylis, and Dillan Baylis, all of whom he loved very much. He enjoyed bragging, sometimes rambling on about how special each one was and their accomplishments.
Bear is survived by his wife, Jane (McKerchie) TenEyck of Sault Ste. Marie; children, Alan (Richelle Berry) of Sault Ste. Marie and Danyalle (Brandon) Wyckoff of Sault Ste. Marie; and many special friends and family members who will all miss him dearly.
Bear was proceeded in death by his parents, Ralph and Patricia; siblings, James TenEyck and Lexi (TenEyck) Piche; mother-in-law, Mary Joyce McKerchie; father-in-law, Harold “Cub” Joseph McKerchie; and brother-in-law, Harold “Bud” Joseph McKerchie.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hospice House of the EUP, 308 W 12th Ave, Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783.
A Celebration of Life will be held on November 3, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, at his daughter Danyalle’s home, 3316 Lakeshore Dr, Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783.
