Robert Lee "Bob" Faunt, age 81, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 10, 2025, at the Ball Hospice House in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. He was born on April 29, 1943, in Sault Ste. Marie to Nester and Engird Faunt.

Bob led a life filled with dedication and love. He married Susan B. Ranson, his beloved partner and wife, on July 5, 1969. They were married for over fifty-five years, and together they raised two wonderful sons, Michael and Matthew, who contributed to Bob's many interpretations of expressing love.

Bob proudly served in the United States National Guard, a testament to his sense of duty and patriotism. He retired after a distinguished forty-year career in the elevator industry, including thirty-seven years with Otis Elevator, where he applied his expertise and commitment.

Bob was an avid outdoorsman - he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing. He shared these passions as a hunting, fishing, and outdoor guide for his sons, creating countless cherished memories. In addition to his love of the outdoors, Bob was a dedicated hockey coach, instilling in his sons the values of teamwork and sportsmanship.

Affectionately referred to as "The General,” Bob was known for his habit of being "generally in charge" and his unique way of "barking" orders, which endeared him to all who knew him.
Bob was a beloved brother, husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth, humor, and unwavering support that will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Robert is survived by his wife, Susan; sons, Matthew and Michael; and brother, William.
