On August 14, 1980, in Zeeland, MI, God blessed Paul and Luann Curtis with the birth of Kimberly Ann. Kimmy and her family relocated to Pickford, Michigan in 1990. As a young girl, she was curious, imaginative and enjoyed learning about any range of topics. She attended Pickford Schools where she excelled academically and athletically. Watching her at track meets, especially during the 800-meter run was an amazing sight. She graduated as the Salutatorian of the class of 1998. Kimberly attended Michigan Technological University and received a civil engineering degree. She earned a Masters of Business Administration degree from Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia, while attending as a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar.

In 2009, she married Richard Hanna as she declared she would as a 10-year-old girl. Kimberly has dedicated the past 15 years to Richard and their 3 children. The love she had for her children was indescribable. She put them before everything and was wholeheartedly grateful to be a full-time stay-at-home mother. Although, “stay-at-home” was never the right words to describe her. She was always compelled to be outside whether it was going on bike rides, hiking in the woods, tending to her garden or just doing yard work. She may not have considered herself to be a skilled gardener, but plants and flowers brought her so much joy. Any gardening or landscaping project she set her mind to was elevated by the passion and vision she had for it.

Kimberly was a lifelong learner, taking every opportunity to share her knowledge and affection for nature with her children. She loved attending the Aldo Leopold Festival with her family, which perfectly combined her love for nature and her desire to learn alongside her children. Kimberly will be remembered as a very intelligent and determined woman who was excited by every opportunity to grow her plethora of knowledge.

Kimberly has and will always be loved by her husband, Richard and their children; William, Genevieve, and Eloise. The love she has shown them will live on for generations. Kimberly will always be remembered dearly by her family members. Those left to celebrate her life are her mother, Luann Curtis of Sault Ste. Marie and her father, Paul Curtis of Pickford, siblings, Melissa (Don) Hagen of Raber, Michelle Curtis of Traverse City, Katrina (Sam) Ledy of Petoskey, Nicholas Curtis of Pickford, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Brien and Beth Hanna of Pickford, sister-in-law, Rachel (Marty) McDermott of Spring Lake, brothers-in-law, Jared (Heidi) Hanna of Lowell and Kurt (Meghan) Hanna of Brimley. Kimberly will also be missed by many nieces and nephews and one great-nephew.

On July 13, 2024, Kimmy joined her brother, Nathan, in heaven.
