Beverly A. (Benoit) Blair, age 80, died on October 9, 2024. She was born on July 1, 1944, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, to Clifford and Mary (Fortin) Benoit.
Beverly graduated from Loretto Catholic High School with the Class of 1962. After graduation, she went to work for Dr. Robinson’s Dental Office. On June 5, 1965, she married Richard L. Blair and moved to Charleston, South Carolina, where Richard was stationed in the United States Navy. Upon his honorable discharge from the Navy, they returned to Sault Ste. Marie at which time she went to work for Dr. Dale Scott. Once Beverly and Richard started their family, she stayed home to raise her three children and provided daycare for others. She provided a great home for her kids and made sure dinner was on the table at 5:45PM every day! When her kids were grown, Bev went back to work spending years at Kmart until she retired. After retirement, Bev liked to go to the casino with her gambling partner Annette. She also took many trips around the United States, Canada, Ireland, England and Wales. She spent many winters in Florida where she was known to enjoy a margarita or two. She also enjoyed camping during the summer months.
Beverly was a devoted member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Beverly’s greatest joy in life was her grandchildren. She attended as many of their events as possible and always enjoyed hearing what they were doing that day.
Beverly is survived by her children, Brent (Lynde) Blair, Brad (Jennifer) Blair, and Michelle (Jim) Bennin, all of Sault St. Marie; grandchildren, Kendra and Randen Blair, Kaden Blair, Brooke and Blair Bennin; sister, Annette Killips; sister-in-laws, Sally Benoit, Lucy Benoit, Cheryl (Tom) Thoreesen; brother, Fred (Linda) Benoit; brother-in-law, Ron (Donna) Blair; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Beverly was proceeded in death by her husband, Richard; grandson, Nicholas Bennin; parents, Clifford and Mary; brothers, Gerald (Bernie) Benoit, Richard Benoit, Allie (Peggy) Marble, William Benoit; sister, MaryLou (Bob) Rose; father and mother-in-law, Virginia and Leland Blair; and brother-in-law, Harry Killips.
A visitation will be held on Monday, October 14, 2024, at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 606 E. 4th Avenue, Sault Ste. Marie, MI at 10:00 AM with a Mass at 11:00AM, luncheon to follow. The burial will follow luncheon at the Oaklawn Chapel Gardens, 15264 M-129, Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783.
