Alfred “Fred” Armand Renaud, age 85, of Cedarville, Michigan, died peacefully on September 9, 2024, at the Ball Hospice House, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. He was born on November 13, 1938, in Windsor, Canada, to Armand and Marie (Ouellette) Renaud.

Fred was raised in Windsor, until his family moved to Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, in 1959. He began working for Algoma Steel while raising his daughters. After thirty years, he retired in 1992. He met Janette, and they married on April 11th, 1992, at First Union Church, in Cedarville. He started working as a groundskeeper for the Les Cheneaux golf course. He spent countless hours over his twenty years of keeping the greens perfect for all golfers.

Fred was a member of the First Union Church, the Root River Golf Course, Ontario bowling and baseball leagues, he was also the High School hockey coach at the PeeWee Arena.

After his daily morning coffee with his buddies, you could find Fred working on something in the garage, gardening, or golfing. He also enjoyed traveling all the time-throughout the states, especially Nevada to see family.

Fred is survived by his wife, Janette Renaud; his daughters, Karen (Jim) Renaud, Debbie (Rick) Renaud, Ronda (Brian) Schlehuber, Raya (Lindy) Hunt, Robin (Tony) Hakola, and Jamie (Anna) Hamel; seventeen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Pauline Wilson, Antoinette Weaver, Julie Lavin; brother-in-law, Ralph Geisel; sisters-in-law, Arla McDowell, Evelyn (Pete) Bush, Arlene McConkey; and many nieces and nephews.

Fred was proceeded in death by his beloved daughter, Linda Renaud; sister, Betty Geisel; brothers-in-law, Jack Wilson, Tom Weaver, Al Lavin, Russell McDowell, Everette McConkey, and Frank McConkey.  

A Memorial Gathering will be held on September 13th, 2024, at the First Union Church, 159 E Hodeck St, Cedarville, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, with the Memorial Service beginning at 4:00 PM.

Final Resting Place will be at Cedar Cemetery, in Cedarville.
