The worst will be on the west side of Chippewa County. Please make arrangements now to travel to the store, so you don't have to travel during this winter event.

  • slow down
  • put your headlights on
  • stay home if you can

Storm moves in later tonight.

Description: Winter storm warning in effect from 7 p.m. this evening to 4 p.m. EST Saturday. Heavy mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 10 inches and ice accumulations of around one tenth of an inch. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph. 

Where: Western Chippewa and Central Chippewa Counties. 

When: From 7 p.m. this evening to 4 p.m. EST Saturday. 

Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. 

Precautionary/preparedness actions: If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of emergency.
