Sault Ste. Marie is welcoming two new businesses to its Airport Industrial Park located near Sanderson Field.
Automated Comfort Controls, Inc. is a service-based temperature control company with over 35 years experience specializing in building automation systems.
Jeta Corp. is a Native American-owned, woman-owned industrial supplies company that specializes in procuring industrial supplies for a wide variety of clients, including potential Soo Locks-related contractors, nuclear and energy-related corporations in other states, and other companies located in Northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula.
Jeta Corp. is currently operating out of a temporary rental space in the Sault but wants a place of its own.
ACC, Inc. will construct a 5,000-10,000 square foot building on lot 11 on the southeast side of Precision Edge's property and directly across from Sanderson Field.
Jeta Corp. will build a 6,000-8,000 square foot warehouse with office space on lot 18 on Davitt Street between W. 14th Ave. and W. 15th Ave. just east of Sanderson Field.
Sault Ste. Marie Economic Development Corp. Executive Director Jeff Holt says this has been in the making for a couple of years.
"We welcome any opportunity we can for new business or business expansion," Holt said.
These two businesses will bring in around $20,000 in tax revenue each year.
"We thank them for taking a chance in our community. We think they made the right choice and we will do what we can to make their transition and their relocation a success," he added.
Holt has been the executive director for seven years and continues to see more and more interest in businesses coming to Sault Ste. Marie.
"When people call us, we process their information. Many folks just want to tell us their story and what their dreams are and that's great. Some are just ready to go. We try to make sure they try to make all the right decisions," Holt continued.
"We have so many amenities to lure businesses in. We have Sanderson Field, Lake Superior State University, My Michigan Medical Center-Sault, the school systems are great and so much more. We give them the facts as we know them. We will not give the wrong impression of our community and potential incoming businesses like that," Holt said. "I want to thank the two businesses for building here. I am hoping the construction starts this year."
