Time trials commence at the I-500 Snowmobile Endurance Race

Time trials at the I-500 track commenced today and Pole Qualifying Rounds continue until final positions are announced on Thursday evening

Time trials at the I-500 track commenced today with the first round starting at 1 p.m. with 42 sleds participating.  

The Pole Qualifying Round II starts at 6 p.m. with two more rounds Thursday before the final positions are announced at 7:45 p.m.

The I-500 Snowmobile Endurance Race is considered to be the most grueling and prestigious snowmobile race in the world.

It is a race that covers 500 laps around the one-mile oval track that is made purely of ice.....and has sled speeds well over 100mph at times down the straightaways.

#74 Bunke Racing took the checked flag last year.

The green flag drops Saturday morning at 10 with 38 sleds expected to race.
